St Clare’s Girls School is housed in an Edwardian
manor in the Cheshire countryside and has since its foundation in 1906
educated the daughters of upper middle class English families. It is a
private fee paying school that takes girls from local prep schools at
13 years of age, subject to them passing an entrance examination, and
for five years prepares them for university entry. The school provides
an all round education that transforms teenage girls into socially
aware and confident young women. Each year accommodates 30 girls for a
total of 150 pupils who are taught by a Headmistress and eight
experienced female teachers. In addition there are a further twelve
female domestic and medical staff to attend to the welfare of the
pupils as would be expected in a residential establishment.
In
2015 it was decided that the school should increase its intake to 200
pupils which is feasible in its present setting. In order to do this
the governors decided that from the beginning of the autumn term in
September of that year the annual intake would be 40 pupils and that
the places would be open to both girls and boys. At this rate the
school would be fully co-educational within five years by 2020. To
preserve the school’s character the intention is to establish a ratio
of two thirds girls and one third boys. A pro rate increase of teachers
and other staff would take place over the same five year timescale.
In anticipation of the first mixed intake a set of ground rules has been drawn up by the governors as follows:-
1) All teachers and other staff will continue to be female
2) Until 2021 all school prefects will be selected from female pupils
3) The safety of female pupils will be the first priority
4) Corporal punishment of pupils will remain but it may be necessary to adapt this for male pupils
5) A modesty code will be implemented for female pupils
6) Male pupils will be addressed by their surnames; female pupils by their chosen forenames
7) Any other matters arising from the culture change will be dealt with by the Headmistress and teaching staff as they arise
8) The object is to integrate male pupils without losing the school’s fundamental ethos
In
September 2015 26 girls and 14 boys were admitted as pupils and the
prefects were instructed to introduce them to the existing pupils. In
the past it had been traditional for all the new girls to have their
knickers pulled down, be bent over and a rubber stamp be imprinted upon
each buttock prior to them being marched around the quadrangle to the
cheers of the other girls. This was under the new modesty rules
considered inappropriate for girls so only the boys would be so
initiated at lunchtime on the first day of term. Their trousers and
underpants were removed, their buttocks stamped and they were paraded
with genitals visible before all the girls including their
contemporaries. No alternative ceremony was arranged for the new girls.
No
punishments were imposed in the first week but needed to be considered
in week two and under the governors’ recommendations that included
caning of pupils on their buttocks. By Friday six boys and four girls
had been marked down for six strokes of the cane administered by their
first year teacher. The girls were called to the front and told to lift
their skirts and tuck them into the waist bands of those same skirts.
The teacher announced that the modesty rules forbade any girl to lower
or remove her knickers so the punishment proceeded with six strokes
administered to each girl on her buttocks but through the said
underwear. The boys were not covered by any such rules and they each
lowered both trousers and underpants and received six strokes on their
bare buttocks.All pupils so punished remained standing in front of the
class for the rest of the lesson when they were allowed to get dressed.
An
unexpected complication arose in that a number of the boy’s embarrassed
by the public exposure of their genitals in the presence of the girls
involuntarily became erect and were displaying their erect cocks for
all including the girls to see. This had not been anticipated and the
Headmistress was called to advise upon a solution. She ruled that the
boys had committed a further punishable offence and should be caned
further on the cock until the erection subsided. This was done
successfully although the number of strokes varied and the teacher’s
enthusiasm made some boys cry with the pain.The Headmistress ruled that
any future public erections should be summarily dealt with in the same
way.
The following week was the class swimming lesson in the
school swimming pool and both boys and girls were taken to the changing
rooms. It had always been traditional for pupils to swim naked and this
basic principle would continue. However the modesty rules prevented the
girls being naked in public and they were allowed to wear costumes
whilst the boys wore nothing. This went down well with the girls whilst
the boys had to accept their humiliation. Some of the girls teased
hoping to produce involuntary erections but the boys were in the water
before that could happen.
The pattern had been established for
the year and indeed for the first three years with the boys regularly
exposed and the girls at all times retaining their modesty. The boys
were frequently embarrassed and the girls triumphant in what they saw
as a victory for feminism.
As they approached 16 years of age
pupils prepared for the sixth form where they were expected to behave
like adults and where the punishments of the junior part of the school
no longer applied. They studied with their contemporary girls but
swimming was no longer a subject and corporal punishment was no longer
considered appropriate. The boys looked forward to modesty of their own
which had been denied them in the junior school.
The sixth form
was supervised by the six prefects who were upper sixth girls and were
able to allocate tasks to their lower sixth subordinates. These girls
were the last all female intake and the boys were the first male sixth
form pupils. The prefects were known as the mean girls and they imposed
menial tasks upon the new sixth formers. The new girls were made to do
all the washing, ironing and cooking whilst the boys were allocated as
“bitches” between the upper sixth girls. That involved the boys being
readily available for any sexual service required by the older girls on
a one to one basis or at a party where the dress code was generally
cfnm or femme dom. This happened every weekend with one to one duties
at any time. Boys expecting modesty were treated as whores by girls
without any restraint and their bodies were public property for the
prefects.
The final year in the upper sixth was a hoped for
release for the boys but they had reckoned without their own year girls
resentment at the way they had been treated in the lower sixth. As they
saw it they had been skivvies whilst their boys had a life of hedonism
and pampering. The girls implemented all their predecessors’ rules upon
a doubling of the number of boys in the sixth form. It was another year
of fem domme control and sexual humiliation and the boys were glad when
it was over and they proceeded to university.
The same boys now
look back at a controlled and feminine school experience but one that
was full of sex albeit supervised. They all have the greatest respect
and admiration for the female sex and would happily send their own
children, girls and boys, to St Clares when the time comes.
